Holidays, Families and Stories
I had a wonderful long weekend recently in the mountains of North Carolina with Frank, my parents, my grandmother and sister. We attended the NC Storytelling Festival, in Brevard, where I served as the emcee (see photo below). Afterwards, we took a leisurely drive, past waterfalls, up to Cherokee. Had awesome rooms at Harrah's and tried our luck in the casino. No real winnings to speak of, but lots of fun.
I am reminded of how much I love my family, and how many stories we share when we are together. Some are old stories based on events that happened many decades ago, that we keep alive through our retelling. Others are new stories, new experiences to be shared and relived.
During this holiday time, I hope that you will be reminded of the stories of your family and friends. As always, I am available as a storyteller to entertain you and yours at this festive time of year.
Happy holiday time!
