Todd General Store

Well, the Summer Reading Program has come to an end here at the library, and life is slowly returning to a more "normal" pace.  Beaufort County Schools start back on August 25, and soon Labor Day weekend will be upon us.

I'll be returning to one of my favorite storytelling venues on the Tuesday after Labor Day, the historic Todd General Store.  Considered by many to be the oldest continuously-operating general store in our state, the Todd General Store is located in the northwest mountains of NC, between Boone and Jefferson.  It's a charmingly rustic place, where locals and tourists come to shop, dine, and enjoy live entertainment.

My parents and grandmother plan to accompany me again this year, so I know we'll have a fun time!  Because I'm the only storyteller on the calendar from the eastern part of our state this year, I'm planning to share a variety of coastal North Carolina stories and anecdotes during my performance.  Tell your friends and I hope you will join us on Tuesday night, September 6.
