Michaelmas

For those of us who believe in angels, September 29th is Michaelmas, the day that honors the great archangel Michael.  This heavenly being can be found in Christian, Jewish, Islamic, and esoteric texts.  Tradition tells us that it was Saint Michael, with his fiery blue sword, who led the armies of heaven against Lucifer during the great war in heaven.  Michael, along with Gabriel, is featured in countless works of art.  Perhaps the most famous location carrying Michael's name is Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy, France.
