One World, Many Stories
The 2011 Summer Reading Program is here! This year's theme is, "One World, Many Stories", and I am excited to already be registering dozens of children to be part of our program at the Brown Library. While kids are busy reading this summer, I will be helping them with book selection, awarding prizes for their good reading, and making sure that our special summer events run smoothly.
We have a top-notch slate of performers coming to Brown Library. We kick-off the summer with a visit from storyteller Priscilla Best, and for the next six weeks, other storytellers, musicians, educators and a magician will come to Washington to promote the library's activities. I'll even don my pirate garb for our craft day!
Here is our schedule of events:
June 24 - Storyteller Priscilla Best
June 29 - Pirate Terry/Craft Day
July 8 - Park Rangers from Goose Creek State Park
July 15 - Storyteller and Musician Ron Jones
July 22 - Magician Rob Westcott
July 29 - Appalachian Storyteller Dianne Hackworth
August 5 - Estuary Program
If you live in Beaufort County, I hope that you'll drop by Brown Library and register your child for, "One World, Many Stories"!
